Just finished reading a …nice analysis of Google’s new patent from Search Engine Journal.
There are some valid points and some gibberish. When I reached the end of the article I was curious who wrote it. Ahem…would you trust opinions from a guy like that?

Fresh from Yahoo’s Next comes Gift finder
Yahoo! Shopping makes finding that special something a whole lot easier. Find the perfect gift for everyone on your list.
Basically consists in a step by step questionaire that helps you personalize your gifts.
In four easy steps, Yahoo! Shopping can help you pick the right gift — whatever the occasion, whomever you’re shopping for.

Birthday, wedding, holiday…
- For her, him, or them?
Girls, boys, grownups…
- Who is the gift for?
Family, friend, co-worker…
- What are they like?
Crafty, modernist, outdoorsy…
Of course you can buy them directly from Yahoo shopping but could be a good instrument to get ideeas from. I know I really needed smthg like that

Search Engine Roundtable just announced that Google will offer impression-based pricing for Ad Words. That’s just another sign of Google’s greed. PPC fraud already is a problem and they want to create another one before solving the first. I don’t think that a normal person will buy this service. On the end publishers and advertisers are loosing money while Google encreases their revenues.
Blah…and once I loved Google

When you make from your blog a primary source of revenue there is a sick tendency to write “daily original content” in order to score well on SERPs. One of the biggest disappointments lately has been Search Engine Journal.
They started by cutting down the comments and killing a small community created around the site. Then they crowded beyond recognition the pages with mostly crappy ads. Now they write bullshit articles..
The article today about Opera is one of those. What I found out? That some moron uses Opera…because he grew up with it and he had tried all the other alternatives out there. Those alternatives being Firefox and….Maxthon. Maxthon is based on IE idiot and that makes it as crap as IE.
That happens when you let kids around a keyboard.
P.S. Opera is an excellent browser that runs great on slower machines but unfortunately lacks the extensibility that Firefox has.
P.S. yeah yeah yeah I was too lazy to write the 360 indexability article or the part 2 of Mambo & SEF URLs so I put up this
P.S. 2. It seems that after a year the “so-smart-person” did an ego search and found this post. It seems that the only thing he saw it was the “moron” word and than write his response. Let’s clear out the things. Everybody is free to love whatever they want: cats, dogs, plastic dolls, their hand, the planet, Opera, IE or Firefox . Don’t care. My point was about Search Engine Journal and a period of low qaulity articles. This article is not about Opera vs. Firefox but it seems that english is not for every one outhere. RTFA & END OF STORY

Just found Dig People. Apparently this is a search engine looking on various records to find a person.
With this occasion I found out that Orkut’s databse is externally searchable. WTF? Since when?
Ah…and also with this occasion I also found out the meaning of my first name
Meaning:Meaning unknown, possibly related to the name RADOVAN. Alternatively it may have been brought to Romania from India by Gypsies, and may mean something like “bringer of good news”. (now I really know why I have this blog
)
Extra Info: The name Razvan creates the desire for harmony with others, but we point out that it causes a blunt expression that alienates others. This name, when combined with the last name, can frustrate happiness, contentment, and success, as well as cause health weaknesses in the fluid systems, and tension or accidents to the head. The name of Razvan gives you the desire to meet and mix socially and to create congenial circumstances for everyone. However, all too often, you express yourself in a matter-of-fact or awkward way that results in your good intentions being misunderstood. If you are in sales work, you could do well because of your friendly personality, interest in people, and desire to please. You prefer situations that allow a degree of independence, but are not too demanding in work-load or responsibility.
aaaaaaaaa….blah

Rustybrick writes about a new occurrence at Google Web Search.
In short. When you do some queries with the the word “directories” included, you will have some additional results on top of the natural ones.
Since now the following have been spotted:
What all this results have in common beside being financial related? All have Tatet directories. With Tatet I have come across a year ago when doing a link building campaign. Their directory is shared with others just like DMOZ. Then I found out that an inclusion on Tattet leads too many other backlinks.
This could mean that Google is looking for other directories besides DMOZ too build up its index? Just an ideea. But I think that it won’t hurt to get an inclusion there

Adi announced me that a Google PR update is running now.
I see it on a few sites of mine so I can confirm it.
Edit:
of course the PR update is doubled by a linkback update

Apparently the announced 1G stoarge space for the free Yahoo Mail is delayed untill May:
Coming soon! 1GB of storage, free to all users
There’s more in store with Yahoo! Mail. By early May, all free Yahoo! Mail users will receive an email storage increase to a whopping 1GB. That’s enough space to keep thousands and thousands of emails — so you’ll never have to delete those important messages again!
