Shazou is one of the most fun extensions lately on the Mozilla Addons section. It’s not a solution to a real problem, but it can add a lot of fun to your daily browsing habits. Based on the Google Maps API, Shazou lets’ you view the hosting and registration address of any website you are in. According to the extension creators, this is not only fun but also:

Shazou will show you the details that you need to make better decisions about what sites you want to register or purchase products.

More details about it:

Shazou now provides Whois data for the server, so that you can compare where the server is physically located to whomever registered the domain.
* Whois data now shown with a separate B Marker.

You can now Shazou a server before you click the hyperlink, simply right mouse click over a link and choose Shazou this Link from the popup menu.

Now Compatible with IE Tabs

By popular demand and to speed up your Shazouing, Shazou has been added to the Right-Click Context Menu

Now using Google Maps Version 2
* Utilizing Google smooth zooming
* Mouse scroll wheel zooming

Error Handling for Bad Geocode and Whois Data

You can click on the Geo IP and Whois markers to re-center map on respective locations

As it is, is a great extension but I wonder what the developers understand by “Keep an eye out we have some other things coming in the near future.” Well, I’ll defently keep an eye on it, especially because it works like a charm in my default browser, Flock.
