Need advice on blog spam :)
In the last few days I am under a heavy comment spam attack. Some idiot unleashed a spam bot and doesn’t see that all comments are moderated. It has become quite annoying to delete all his comments. Anyone can suggest a good defense method for Word Press or even better…retaliation?

Are you running any spam-plugins?
Don’t know if you use the Dashboard/Options/Discussion spamwords and the blacklist, I’ve found this comes in very handy.

I suggest Spam Karma 2 for 3 reasons.
1 it is really easy to setup
2 it kickes the crap out of all of the comment spam that is out there
3 it works on trackback/ pingback spam as well
I would also recommend refer karma as well it is a little more involved in it’s setup but it is just as good at destroying anything that is not what you want. like refer spam
