Web Metrics

I will call today the Web Metrics day :).

Google Analytics just started showing data and at the first look it seems pretty impressive. What I liked in the first clicks was seeing visitors cities but the features go way beyond that.

And also today I received access to the private alpha of Measure Map. When I found out on Monaday about Google Analytics, I was sad for Measure Map guys for loosing the market. Now after I have installed and tested a litlle their scripts, I saw that there is no need to worry for them. Even though both are focused on web metrics, none of the services will ever compete with complete server side logs and most important they target different users.

Measure Map using a simple design, usefull blogging features and a natural language will be more appealing to the bloggers while Google Analytics will be used more by proffesional marketers and webmasters.

I see no reason why those 2 products could not hapilly coexist on the web metrics market.
