Yahoo! Web based IM
After the somehow succesfull integration of the Yahoo! Messenger in the email client, Yahoo! goes a step forward and launches a standalone web based messenger. More details and a demo video can be seen here.
Google has also done similar steps in this direction, and their simple approach is more appealing to the geek crowd, while the Yahoo!’s colorful version seems to be more targeted to younger people

I have never used Google as a messenger. I think I would use yahoo. It’s just that I’m used to it!

hope i can able to guess from your post that the search engines are competeting with each other to increase their users by various implementations and features. well i used yahoo messenger only. i don’t know about google. let me check to it and if i really find google messenger to use very easier and loving as like yahoo then let me install in my system to make use of it.
